Over time, this day has become an opportunity to not only honor the tireless efforts of Vietnamese women but also reflect on their many challenges and triumphs throughout Vietnam’s rich history. An old Vietnamese saying “Giặc đến nhà đàn bà phải đánh” – “When the enemy is at the gate, the woman goes out fighting.” shows, that the role of women in Vietnam has long been linked to the struggle for independence.

Today, Vietnamese women continue to make remarkable progress in all aspects of life. They are leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, artists, scientists, and more. They are also mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, and friends who care for their families and communities with love and dedication.
